The bathroom addition was extended off of the back of the master bedroom at a 45 degree angle behind the wood burning fireplace to follow the lines of the outdoor pool and patio area.  A window on one side was replaced with doors to the luxurious western-style bathroom, and the existing masterbath became the new celebrity-style master closet.

the swinging cowboy doors were taken from the screened-in porch and reused for privacy to the toilet/bidet area.  The hanging crystal star lights were the homeowner's favorite thing to look at.

THE MASTER CLOSET:

Distressed alder barn doors with horseshoe details glide open from the bedroom on a metal track.  The new closet/dressing room fills the existing space of the bathroom and old closet.

An arched opening between the "his" and "her's" sections of the closet is flanked with two natural tree trunk columns that have limbs acting as hooks for hats, purses, and belts!  The dressing room comes complete with fold-out mirrors, a mini-fridge, skylight, chandelier, and built-in security safe.

A shot of all four paint colors converging
(a biege/green in the entry, a mocha brown in the family room,
a cinnamon for the fireplace accent wall, and a caramel in the kitchen)

See - you CAN combine different colors for an overall neutral look without being biege!

The old green marble around the fireplace was replaced with a zen-inspired mosaic combining rocks, glass tile, metallics, and slate!

The victorian spindles & posts were removed and replaced with spiral stained columns from Wichita, KS.  A cedar beam and accents line the top above the columns.  A knotty alder front door was installed and flagstone covers the widened front step.

The dated fluorescent soffit over the island was removed in favor of pendant lights.  The kitchen was reconfigured by taking out the inconvenient peninsula and replacing it with a 10ft. island topped with a single slab of granite.  Cabinets are knotty alder from Quality Wood Products.

The lower brick hearth was knocked out to add more room for the large copper table and the old TV cabinet was demolished; making the pass-through between living room and kitchen much more open.

Staircase design to wrap around the fireplace; resembling a southwestern adobe style

New outdoor fireplace with staircase wrapping around from the deck, and lower paved patio.  The hearth is topped with flagstone and my mom and I tiled around the fireplace.  The ceiling is a system that attaches under the deck, catches rainwater, and diverts it to the gutter system so you don't get wet underneath when it rains.

PS- my dog, Jager, is in the photo on the ottoman!
